Inside Out Episode 1
August 9th, 2007 | by philippe |This is the first podcast of the show, aired today on DCAL. To launch the show as a podcast on irishelection.com, we had Cian and Suzy of Maman Poulet in to talk to us about blogging and politics.
Political Blogging in Ireland is still in its infancy. Until recently only a small number of trailblazers commentated on daily political events in this freeform. However this year’s election marked a watershed with a variety of politicians and journalists writing blogs for public consumption. Mainstream media took note of what these amateur pundits were posting on the web and in some cases stole their arguments.
Some of these Blog sites can achieve readerships that exceed the likes of Magill, The Phoenix and The Village Magazines. Is there a chance that they will become a dominant force in political life in Ireland?
Cian is also here to announce the launch of the Inside Out web site. This will allow us to pod cast our episodes weekly and allow you to comment on what you hear in a listener’s forum.

One of the areas I was really interested in was If any stories were lifted by the traditional media from blogs.
Perish the thought that any credible journalist would try to plagiarise online content. But it must happen that views, information, innuendo, rumour and probably downright lies are gathered on the web and passed off as someone else views.

I really think the impact of blogs on irish elections have been hugely over stated by the well known irish bloggers,I think they know this are are just trying to promote the idea that they will in the future, although I like to see those readerships comparisons.

I can’t get it work I trying to listen to off the page and I and tried downloading it , there no info in the file. What am I doing wonrg.
