This is the fifth in a series of posts looking at who would or would not keep their seats if an election was called now. With not much  local polling to go on this is entirely my opinion and probably wrong. If you have any ideas on it please drop a comment. Waterford

The Oireachtas has today launched a detailed profile based on the 2006 Census of all the constituencies in the country. The information is quite interesting and comprehensive and details all 42 constituencies in the country.

A nice event for Brian Cowen — he gets to meet his fellow leader-in-waiting north of the border, Peter Robinson (no mention of what Ian Paisley said about his lips), and they agree on a scheme which will see the International Financial Services Centre extended to Northern Ireland via a modification of IFSC’s tax exemption [...]

Results from 6th count: Coffey(FG): 5382 Cullinane(SF): 3697 Deasy(FG): 8546 Halligan(Workers P): 2093 Kenneally(FF): 6699 OShea(Lab): 6545 Wilkinson(FF): 6395 Halligan has been elim. Halligans results are now being distrib. Wilkinson has lost his lead on O’ Shea. O Shea should get a large amount of Halligans votes as both are left and from the city.

At the least it seems Sinn Fein are hoping to pick up 6 additional seats in this election. Mary Lou McDonald reckons they can pick up seats in Donegal (not sure if one or both), Sligo-North Leitrim, Cork North Central, Waterford and Wexford. She also suggests seats in Dublin (well she would) though not specifying [...]

Poll released today in the Waterford News and Star by Red C for the constituency. There is considerable good news for Fine Gael, although a possible headache for Enda Kenny, John Deasy tops the poll on 20% of the first preference and Fine Gael’s overall first preference share is 30%.
