FF Councillor calls for Willie O’Dea to be sacked

Limerick Blogger brings us the background to a minor skirmish in Fianna Fáil in Limerick. The whole thing kicked off this week when Limerick County Councillor, Noreen Ryan, wrote to the Taoiseach Brian Cowan calling for him to sack Minister for Defence, Willie O’Dea. The call comes after it emerged this week after it emerged [...]

The overall tone of the interview was less than convincing in it’s endorsement of the Taoiseach.

The Green Party meet lesbians and gay men and talk relationships

Last week I received an invitation from John Gormley’s office to attend a consultation that the Green Party was holding to discuss forthcoming developments in the legislation for Civil Partnerships for same sex couples. Readers of MP will know I have been vocal on the issue of the Green Party policy in government regarding same [...]

Finian’s Rainbow? Where’s his crock of gold now?

Update: Finian has been found! On Morning Ireland of all places – god forbid he would put himself at the mercy of Liveline listeners! Leo Varadkar – the PV Doyle of Prisons

Well it didn’t take long for Leo Varadkar to join the queue for the ‘Will FG just stop’ treatise that Simon has started. Having watched Dr. Varadkar from afar during some of his student days I’m not surprised. I’m only waiting for Lucinda Creighton to call for women to be charged for post abortion counselling [...]

Gormley thinks he has lost it

John Gormley has a trait of posting that he’s going to lose an election due to ‘safe seat syndrome’. The Green Leadership election is no different it seems. Coming home to canvass after a meeting in Brussels, he discovers most members have voted already and have voted for his opponent Patricia McKenna. He predicts Patricia [...]

The blogging TD. becomes the blogging minister. He’s been busy investigating if he can do anything about the present left for him by Dick Roche.  We can look forward to reports from Cabinet meetings, tales of the files and folders being sent home with him at the weekend and other tid bits!

My name is Maman Poulet and I’m a recovering election blogger. It’s been a few days since my last blogging round up, and the politician bloggers are still blogging so I thought I’d round them up for ye. Joan Burton had fish, chips and left over chablis to celebrate her re-election on Friday, she avoided [...]

Ciaran Cuffe ponders options

Ciaran Cuffe posts about winning, just. He is also very frank on the matter of coalition with Fianna Fail  but there is a but. Let’s be clear. A deal with Fianna Fáil would be a deal with the devil. We would be spat out after 5 years, and decimated as a Party. But, … would [...]
