Minister calls Bertie’s interview with Dobson a mistake

Junior Minister John McGuinness gave an interview on Newstalk’s Lunchtime Show regarding this week’s proceedings at the Mahon Tribunal this afternoon - Newstalk have press released the interview with quotes after the jump. The overall tone of the interview was less than convincing in it’s endorsement of the Taoiseach.

The Green Party meet lesbians and gay men and talk relationships

Last week I received an invitation from John Gormley’s office to attend a consultation that the Green Party was holding to discuss forthcoming developments in the legislation for Civil Partnerships for same sex couples.
Readers of MP will know I have been vocal on the issue of the Green Party policy in government regarding same sex [...]

Finian’s Rainbow? Where’s his crock of gold now?

Update: Finian has been found! On Morning Ireland of all places - god forbid he would put himself at the mercy of Liveline listeners! The promise for the unit for CF patients is contained in Section 5 of the deal document. A new unit is 2/3 years away until completion. Finian is seeking a short [...]

Leo Varadkar - the PV Doyle of Prisons

Well it didn’t take long for Leo Varadkar to join the queue for the ‘Will FG just stop’ treatise that Simon has started. Having watched Dr. Varadkar from afar during some of his student days I’m not surprised. I’m only waiting for Lucinda Creighton to call for women to be charged for post abortion [...]

Gormley thinks he has lost it

John Gormley has a trait of posting that he’s going to lose an election due to ’safe seat syndrome’. The Green Leadership election is no different it seems. Coming home to canvass after a meeting in Brussels, he discovers most members have voted already and have voted for his opponent Patricia McKenna. He predicts [...]

The Green Party delegation have taken a one hour break from the talks with Fianna Fail on the formation of a government. The break is to allow them to consult their reference group - made up of TD’s, members of their national executive and councillors.

Ciaran Cuffe ponders options

Ciaran Cuffe posts about winning, just. He is also very frank on the matter of coalition with Fianna Fail  but there is a but.
Let’s be clear. A deal with Fianna Fáil would be a deal with the devil. We would be spat out after 5 years, and decimated as a Party. But, … would it [...]

Winners and Losers…

Time for us all to think about our individual winners and losers of the campaign – feel free to do your own lists in the comments – I’m picking a few who come to mind and one for who the jury is still out for as far as I’m concerned. (Note I’m mentioning [...]
