A few SMEs and other groups have said the sponsorship slots we currently have are too pricey for them to sponsor them. With two days to go we still need sponsorship to break even so we are offering sponsorship slots of EUR250 now.

We’re looking for volunteers to help out at the “Blogging the Election” conference. We will need volunteers for the following:
Setting up:
Chairs and tables and AV stuff. We need to be in the Digital Hub around 9am to do this.
Room supervisors:
People to make sure everything is going smoothly and to address the needs of the audience. [...]

It seems that MySpace will now be encouraging people to register to vote and Walmart are going to be doing something like this too by running an initiative to register all their staff to vote. They have 1.3 million employees. Simon McGarr wrote a guide on how to register to vote which deserves attention.

At the ComReg and DCMNR joint conference on “Broadband Leadership” Noel Dempsey awkwardly announced that Ireland had “smashed” the broadband target he set two years ago.
