Via Damian Blake on twitter comes the story of the fracturing of the Green party (slightly).
Members of the Donegal Green Party have voted to disassociate from the official Green Party.
At a special Emergency General Meeting in Letterkenny over the weekend Green members voted with a majority of 91% to re-establish themselves as an independent Green Party.
A spokesperson for the new Independent Green Party in Donegal says they now intend to set up a regional council to cover the Western region.
Frank Gallagher says he’s hopeful other green members around the country will follow suit.
I say kind of because Donegal is the home of indpendent-break away parties. I imagine Frank will be losing this page soon…
