According to the Village Magazine he is. Brian Lenihan is top while Vincent Browne at 62 is more influential than Garrett Fitzgerald at 63.

Anyone else think that Ganley at 25 is a bit off the charts?
Head over to our T
That whole list is mad. David McWilliams is more influential then most, also the Irish Star and indo are more influential then the Irish Times.
No he isn’t, is the answer to your question. He certainly isn’t more influential than Miriam O’Callaghan, who in turn is not more influential than David Begg, who in turn is not more influential than the Holy Father. Who probably also retains more influence here than President Obama, who’s credited with more influence on Irish life than any of them.
The list is crap.
Can I also note that according to this list, Simon Cowell is more influential than Enda Kenny, who also trails none other than Anne Harris by 61 places. I suggest this list might be worthless.
It almost seems the whole point of this was to have a great laugh at putting Enda Kenny at 90, but Bruton at 3 and Gilmore at 5. As well as the few other screwy rankings. What a great panel they had too.
John, admit it, you’re just bitter and twisted you didn’t make the list. And hey everybody should know that if it wasn’t for you Dodgy Declan would not have made it to 25.
Funny you mention Simon Cowell, cos if you are not him, you’re Louis Walsh of politics.
Most infleuntial people.Yes I would Lenihan first – because he inflicted NAMA on us. I would put Danny McCoy of IBEC, and David Begg od ICTU as #2 and #3 respectively. I would put the Director General of RTE as #4. The Editor of the Irish Independent #5, and the editor of the (Irish) Daily Star as #6 because the readers of the Daily Star beleive every word in the paper. I would put Geraldine Kennedy as #6. These media organs are powerful because they can come up with anything and their loyal believers will never ask any quesitons. Joe Dyffy as #8. George Hook #9. Pat Kenny #10. Barroso as #11. Trichet as #12. I would add Mark Little and Shane McElhatton (Editor Morning Ireland) as #13 and #14.
After that is is mainly economic and government officials who execute power. And business men who can influence matters, especially in the banking sector.
Mary Robinson and Bono – both attention seeking hypocrites who use third world poverty so that they can get something for themselves – whether it is position or sales, are not as seriously thought of as they used to be. I would not include Ganley as #25. Though he made an interesting debate with Michael O’Leary.
Putting Gerard O’Regan editor of the Irish Indepenent at # 46 ? Ridiculous-he is much more powerful than that. Also Alan Ahearne, special advisor to Brian Lenihan is far more powerful than #89.
I would also include Senator Shane Ross, David McWilliams, Matt Cooper, Ivan Yates, and possibly George Lee.
It is hilarious that Kenny-lite got #90 and Richard Bruton #3. And Bertie Ahern, who has an enormous credibility problem belongs way down the list.
