Good Morning – we continue to bring you the best of the web on the election or election on web. No thanks are necessary (except of course to those who send us the goodies!), consider it part of our service to the nation.
The use of the Twitter by Green Party Candidates to express their emotions will probably be one of the Web 2.0 related memories of the campaign. Joining Dan Boyle as a frank Twitterer is Tallaght Central based candidate Arther Doohan. Arthur blogs and twitters and yesterday it all seemed a bit too much on the doorsteps. (For the bank holidayed addled amongst you JG refers to John Gormley. )

Over at the Cedars, WorldbyStorm takes a look at the Fianna Fáil reaction to those comments by Frank Flannery on Fine Gael and Sinn Féin and the way they might coalesce in future.
Corkpolitics.ie reports on Brian Crowley’s comments last week at an Over 50′s talent contest in Cork where he suggested instead of the Christmas bonus that maybe his constituents might get free chips from Dino.
Staying in Cork it’s worth directing your attention to ‘town’ blogs like Youghal Online who have been doing their bit to cover the election.
LimerickBlogger cast their own bank holiday eye on the election with a look at a candidate poster which calls for the bull to be cut, which as Squid notes may not be the most sensitive slogan given the candidate’s animal cruelty conviction.
Bobby Awylard, Fianna Fáil TD in Kilkenny blogs rarely, however his latest post is a shout out to remember to vote for the Brudder. (That’s the Aylward Brethern member Liam he’s referring to rather than the Ahern Brethern) His nephew Eamon running for Kilkenny County Council also gets a mention.
Senator Paschal Donohue, Fine Gael’s candidate in the Dublin Central bye election visited a centre for people who have been homeless and says he’ll be back after the election.
Last weekend Labour’s local election candidate in Limerick Tom Shortt was skateboarding with his brother Pat. This weekend he joined his party colleague Senator Alan Kelly in being rapped about.
I don’t think that Fianna Fáil’s candidate in Rathfarnham John Phelan, has received much coverage in our round up’s so far. This is definitely an omission on our part. (You can watch all his output here) In his final youtube ‘address’ I have to remind myself that it’s South Dublin and not Florida that John is contesting with all the sun shine and roofless cars!
A party political broadcast brought to us by independent candidate for Dublin in the European Parliament election Patricia McKenna – it’s over 8 minutes long. (Seriously I did say thanks are not necessary at all.)
Strangely quiet during this campaign is another Dublin candidate Caroline Simons (of the Order Ganley) the Libertas Candidate in Dublin. However it seems one can find her on Youtube.
Her last address to the public and young people in particular pops up on my radar – yes she does say she doesn’t need the job she’s running for.
From previous round-ups you may have noted that candidates in Wicklow have been busy releasing broadcasts, Tom Fortune has found a magnificent throne chair to make his address to the county.
Head over to our T
With that chair I thought Tom Fortune was going to demand that Flash Gordon surrender himself or the Earth gets it.
The way the camera kept leering towards Sister Caroline was disconcerting. It was like she was leaning forward for a drunken kiss.
I’m confused by Patricia – on a radio debate she said she would join a political grouping in the EP, now she is saying she is going to stay independent. Which is it?
the gp fanboys and twittering like crazy, the ff diehards are keeping schtum…
