Early Tallies Thread – Midday Update

George Lee is going to take Dublin South with a landslide. Brian Hayes says he might win on the first count.

Dublin Central 74% tally Ahern 13%, Bacik 18%, Burke 12%, Donohue 24%, Geary 3%, O’Sullivan 25% #Le09

RTE has called it for Maureen O Sullivan.

Declan Ganley going really strong in North and West with 30% in a Sligo tally.

De Ross and Mitchell home and hosed as MEPS while Fianna Fail have a joint 20% but Higgins has polled very strongly in his local Castleknock area (23%) so the shakeup is going to be tough for that third seat. No word on Mary Lou but Burke’s 9% so far isn’t a great indicator for her.

Locally, tallies in Dublin suggest a strong showing by Labour (Kevin Humphreys has well over a quota) and Mannix Flynn is set to take a seat out at Dublin south east inner city. The Fianna Fail vote has dropped big time in the city and around the country there are reports like those in Louth that suggest they will be coming back empty handed. Cork South West ward might not deliver a seat for them either – it is straws in the wind but the PBP and Socialists are doing extremely well.

Nessa and McGuinness look fine for the MEP seats in the East and Phelan slugs with Aylward for the final spot. Alan Kelly looking much stronger than Sinnott in parts of Cork and Kerry.

Green party not having a good day. Garret Tubridy is only polling 5%.
