The State’s priorities

A short post about a dreadful juxtaposition: why did Louise O’Keeffe have to endure huge suspense about whether she was liable for the State’s legal costs in her failed child abuse liability case when on the same day that she finally gets off the hook (the Supreme Court showing sense), we learn that the Ombudsman and HSE have set senior counsels on each other even though it’s not clear the HSE SC has much do to given the Ombudsman’s powers?

I don’t think the Ombudsman appointed a SC as the office had the power to compel the documents anyway.
The Hannon case in Connemara is another example of the State and its organs going for the easy option and then covering tracks at the expense of a human being. Nothing is going to change here. Ireland is irredeemably corrupt in its current configuration.

When the dept of health went after the late Mrs McCool Michael Noonan(and FG)paid the full political price. Is there any political price for these decisions any more or just hide behing SCs, HSE ,court cases or just drag the whole thing out so long everyone loses interest.
