Basically Gormley wants to come out from the FF Shell. Gilmore wants to put Gormley in the FF shell and crush it. Enda doesn’t want a debate because he would lose and Cowen does not want to be destroyed.

I don’t see why we should have a leaders debate as its not a General Election. We already have constituency debates for the European Elections. Do we really need to sit through another one??

it would be much more interesting than the Dublin Euro debates. repetition.

this is for people who vote by party, such as myself. and it will be amazing to see Labour battle the greens battle SF. and I really can’t see FF and or FG having any kind of unified stance on local governemnt.

then again. who would represent the independents?

    I’d love it.

Vincent Browne has offered to do it on his show.

    John Gormley has agreed.

If we’re having a leaders debate then doesn’t that also mean if the party of the leaders does badly in the election that they should resign? After all if the debate is meant to be significant in some why then they have to carry the can for their party’s electoral performance.

And I thought Gormley was in agreement with Cowen that this was a local election on local issues?
