MiCanidate.eu usage

So Alexa is not the greatest tool for tracking the usage for a website. But it is interesting non-the less. If we check out the stats from MiCanidate.eu against the main party websites and us here at Irish Election.  You can see that the graph has pretty poor axis. But what you can also see is that for many of the days Irish Election gets more hits then not only Micanidate.eu but also Fine Gael, Fianna Fail and Labour. So what does that say about the state of peoples use of the internet to find out about Irish politics? Anyone know any better ways of tracking usage stats. (We are all too low to feature on google Trends)
More on micanidate.eu here

Update: Also from the stats only 53% of the Views came from Ireland meaning 48% of the views were entirely useless to any canidate in terms of votes. Although Irish citizens abroad can donate.

I’ve no doubt that many political commentary sites, or political sections of news sites (RTE etc.) get more traffic than party sites. After all, you’re not going to find the real dirt on party political sites!

Though, as you acknowledged, outside of the top 100/500 sites in Alexa the numbers quickly become statistically insignificant, i.e., the Alexa toolbar is installed on a small percentage of peoples’ browsers. Also, the install base will be skewed towards more tech audiences.
Basically, the error is too high to draw a conclusion at low numbers.

Do any of the party sites release numbers? if requested?

Irish citizens abroad can donate? You sure? Might need to ask SIPO about that. Also, it’s 53/47 percent.
