Update Simon: On RTE player now. About 18 minutes in. For non-Ireland Residents here
A full blow by blow account is available as we speak thanks to the live blog set up by Suzy. John McGuinness went on the Late Late to further air his discontent with the government and their handling of the economy. He suggested that the government wasn’t up to it, the public service were a drag not a help and that both Coughlan and Cowen have serious issues with their behaviour.
He claimed to have told Mary Coughlan to her face she was in the wrong position for her talents – she wasn’t up to it and that Cowen needs to go beyond tribal FF leadership or he risks losing the parliamentary party. The fallout from this will be inversly proportional to how many people belive it was all sour grapes. It could well be the moment when the Cowen perception has been nailed as tribal, intert and incapable of thinking outside the box.
Hopefully the RTE player will have this up soon. Head over to the live blog for more.

What was odd was the way he referred to the system moreso than the government or that was my impression at least.
So the hard political question is if he lacks confidence in the Tanaiste would he vote against her in a motion of no confidence were one put down? I suspect he would simply abstain, but someone (a journalist perhaps) should think about asking him this directly. After all the Oireachtas is the place for public representatives to really show if they have an opinion or view on something not the Late Late.
Got a brief look at the Cork Evening Echo. Ned O’Keeffe is stirring the pot as well.
