He’s taking it up a notch

In Monday’s Irish Times, John McGuinness is now directly challenging the memory if not the veracity of Mary Coughlan‘s account of their recent conversations.  The fact that he was well liked in the media seems to be an underlying issue in the breakdown of his relationship with Mary Coughlan and Brian Cowen.  Another Coughlan reference in Peter Murtagh’s piece

[Cowen] says he has full confidence in Minister for Enterprise Mary Coughlan. Business people I know who have seen her abroad batting for Ireland have squirmed with embarrassment and would disagree withhis assessment.

It is clear we have no government and haven’t had for a long time, the problem is FF in opposition are so unprincipled that they render the country ungovernable by any other administration.

    Betty,
Some might say that one wing of FF always remains in opposition.

It was interesting to see Mattie McGrath pop up echoing McGuinness. Another TD keeps it slowly ticking over, a few more TV/newspaper interviews providing more detail and the process rolls on. This is not a peevish gesture on McG’s part. He has decided either on his own or in cahoots with others to nail Cowen by shooting Coughlan. With 6 weeks to go to a pretty poor Euros/Locals then there is plenty of time to string her up.

Mattie McGrath’s intervention – is he regarded as being aligned with any particular FF figure.

Note that the Minister today left for a trade mission to the Gulf (yet another one). Could be read either as a vote of confidence or a plan to keep her out of the public eye for a few days.

Maybe, but I guess that event was scheduled for a long time coming?

Seeing as how Mattie and John are going at it like its a street fight with Coughlan then I dont see any succour for her.
