The health motions were first out, which fails to explain the 8-10 mentions of farming in the speeches. The old stereotypes die hard. The party is passing around the peacepipe (tobacco grown on Irish Farms of course!) as peace broke out midweek at the Parliamentary Party meeting. We shall see…something tells me there will be more to this in coming weeks than leadership and advisors would like.
The poll’s results are no surprise. FG’s move to more and more constructive opposition shows the uncommitted voter that FG has the potential and people to change from the Haughey infected ruling group. The media’s obsession with the leadership of parties and that the leaders of the main parties were voted in by constituencies outside Dublin shows how out of touch the Dublin chattering class is. The Dublin by elections and unrest will trigger events. Watch for a gradual increase in Kenny’s rating and particularly as power beckons! He impresses at the townhall type meetings. Moreover a leader who promotes the best has been absent from this State for decades. Kenny will be a Taoiseach and your mission is to identify when!
