A Missed Opportunity

Fine Gael Leader Enda Kenny TD will today (Wednesday) lead a Fine Gael delegation on a visit to Israel and the Palestinian Territories in order to witness the aftermath of the conflict between Hamas and Israel earlier this year.

This I have to say is a bit of a lost opportunity. If they had done the website correctly and used it as a medium to connect with people then a blog of this trip to Israel would be a good way of highlighting what they are doing there. Personalise Enda Kenny, maybe a video diary or two (depends if people think he can be good on informal video).

Most people don’t know what politicians do on these trips. Just check out the questions over the East Timor trip that the government went on recently if Fine Gael were more open and engaging on it. Ok not that many will watch it online but the appearance of engaging and being open is often more importance then actually being.
