Gotcha now. As Labour made no mention of it being independently moderated, I thought they were setting up their own one - like the Greens originally planned. Didn't know they'd be in contact with Simon. My bad, redmum.

Eoin, Labour are not setting up their own one and given their experience of engaging with bloggers and social media generally I'd they would never dare do it! Read what Red Mum said again! They were announcing the scribble/liveblog.ie one and hashtag and said more details will be announced closer to the date - Simon is setting it up on Thursday.

Hi, redmum. Yeah, I know it's Simon's baby but Labour are setting up their own one, just as the Green Party did originally. But in that instance, Simon contacted the Greens and they agreed to link to the live blog moderated by him. That way, no live bloggers were diverted to a separate blog by the party's official site. It makes a lot more sense to have everyone contributing to one independently moderated live blog - including those who got the link from the official party website. Hopefully Labour will agree to link to the independent one - not the one set up by themselves...

Hi Eoin the Sribble live is Simon's baby, he'll set it up during the week, not Labour. Its a great initiative and great that its independently done where anyone can contribute, why mess with that :)

Also, I see that Labour intend to set up a Scribble Live blog with the hashtag #LP09. Could Simon or Cian contact Labour and ask them to let the live blog be moderated independently, as was done with the Green Party conference live blog? It would make all the difference to contributors. Thanks.

Yeah, in fairness, Labour were quite savvy with their online coverage last year. And they didn't make a song and dance about it either, unlike other parties.

Ciara and I from Yellow Roman Candles will be blogging from Mullingar that weekend. Anyone else coming to the Midlands?
