How Long can Fingleton Last?

Read more about: Economy     Print This Post

That is the question on everyone’s lips as the government, now paying the piper and calling the tune, lump in behind Boyle/Gormley’s call for the resignation of Chief of the Irish Nationwide Michael Fingleton. Allegedly the replacement Chief Executive didn’t like the pay on offer for the job he would be doing.

I can only imagine the scale of job that replacement was looking at. Fingleton is a notbaly tough operator but the scale of public pressure combined with the government’s ability to pwn him makes this an irresistable drama for many.

The interesting thing to watch is what happens once if he eventually does step down. The Greens would be well advised to keep at the head of the running on this one.
