Cometh the hour…..following the 120,000 strong demonstration on Saturday and the general implosion of the Irish economy and public confidence in Fianna Fail we have another specialist economics blog to welcome to the scene.

Progressive Economy @ TASC is a new economics blog with a progressive outlook and contibutors such as

  • Paula Clancy (Director, TASC)
  • Professor Gerard Hughes (School of Business, TCD)
  • Professor Terrence McDonough (Dept. of Economics, NUIG)
  • Paul Sweeney (Economic Advisor, ICTU)
  • Dr. Jim Stewart (School of Business, TCD)
  • Peter Connell (TCD)
  • Professor Peadar Kirby (Dept. of Politics & Public Administration, UL)
  • Professor David Jacobson (School of Business, DCU)

It was set up by the think-tank TASC

to provide a forum for progressive economists commenting on the Irish economy. Most contributors are members of the TASC Economists’ Network.

Diversity of comment and opinion, especially in this field is most welcome, head over and have a read of what will be a very valuable resource.

That’s all we need – another TASC force.

(I’m so sorry – I’ll get my jacket)
