Fianna Fail launch sitr as Joe Rospars speaks

So the Joe Rospars event did turn to double up as a Fianna Fail function for soft web launch. Bloggers on Twitter let rip – go check #rospars and suddenly we read they are ringing one blogger/Twitterer to control message.
More later. As Rick might say 166 lads.
Hardly a flashmob, bloggers signed up to hear about Joe and Obama but got Sean Dorgan, FF General Secretary welcoming us to the launch of their site. Immediately twitter was abuzz with those who didn’t come for politics wondering what was up. The issue was this was pitched, widely, as an event of interest in and of itself. It didn’t work out that way.I really think that Suzy’s post covers the ground best.
The media company involved asked us did we want to hear Joe Rospars speak and lots of us said ‘yes please’ and they knew how to handle things and I think it was a pity they were not allowed to run the event as it was advertised. As for Joe I won’t remember much about his speech because I was reading the reactions on twitter and watching the reaction in the room – a number of questions asked were not answered and little new information was gained. The fact the new website was on the screen in the room led to FF specific questions being asked – Cue Problem 3.
If it were a Fianna Fáil web strategy launch we’d probably have learnt so much more and FF would have lots of blog posts on the new project and engagement.
Finally to add to confusion regarding the night I wonder who I gave my name and email address to when I signed in at the door? Because at the end of night Joe was telling us all to email Fianna Fáil as if we were at a FF event.
Now if people are wondering about all the noise and negativity tonight it’s simply because people became very confused at what event they were actually at.
Update Simon: Damian Blake the organiser replies , Slugger, , Green Ink , Mulley Communications , Gav , Suzy all weigh in.

Where’s the conspiracy claim?
I am sure that such a hardy bunch of citizen journalists – fresh from that paragion of transparency and accountability, the privately-run “Irish” Blog Awards – managed to recover somehow. Less whine and more finger food, anyone?
(by the way, I’m loving what I presume is the mobile version of this website. Very slick)
I like the new FF site yes we can blog them a great idea and there is a obama attached to it fantastic wouldnt it be great if the other parties followed any thing from obama might rub off and FF is there first ha haha from a outsider looking in i think fianna fail has left the possie standing again to get in with the obama camp ha ha im laughing and some people never turned up for the party bloggers i think some one called them were invited and never showed aaaaaaaaaaaa what did they do wrong their going to say in years to come. Thats where the contacts are and were at the launch its where you meet people.
If it was any other party i wouldnt care i still go there. If i was constantly blogging and had my own company the first thing i would have seen on that invite was money and thats what its all about contacts and money. Seems to me people just want to critisise and not fulfill their true potential. Thats the way the country is going it dont matter who is in power that is the way the country is and its sad. We sent a man from ireland to america and he built a car we have one of the oldest buildings in ireland newgrange we built that and i can go on and on There is no new ideas being invented in ireland why ?? Did any one ever stop to think or are we all to busy occupied with some other gadget some one else made
