um … two cllrs resigning. I’ve heard worse from other parties. every party has their cranks.

    e.g.
    FG waterford guy.
FF long list. people campaigning in the party about how they are going to change the party from within. but really just supporting the ones at the top while retaining their job.
Labour people jump on and off the bandwagon when they feel like it.

Greens had two cllrs resign in possiblly the most contreversial decision any party could have taken. and they took a year and a half to resign.

it could have been a lot worse.

Chris O’Leary and Bronwen Maher are cranks Stephen?

just Chris O’Leary I don’t really know Bronwen Maher but she stood up at the special convention about going into government expressing her disappointment at how there was no mention of women’s issues. she was annoyed and disheartened because she spent so much time creating the green party’s women’s policy.

every time I’ve met Chris he only complains about the party. which he had every right to do. because the cork greens are a bit of a mess. never mind nationally.

and pretty much all the press he got was him complaining about anti social behaviour and the noise pollution bill.

all i know is that all my friends think he’s just an angry old man. locally that is. and his departure doesn’t help him.

he really left on principle and he’s hurting from it.

he was in this mind even before the budget. and one issue which annoyed him was the lack of funding for a public library in Mahon when John Gormley said that there would be money there for it in the budget. but considering recession and all… there isn’t

And you think that’s the end of it?

  6. # Comment by Stephen Crowley Jan 28th, 2009 12:01

yup … apart from patricia mckenna…. but she has been working against the party since we got into government. she is remaining true to her roots. but with 6% of the vote we’re never going to run the country …this term.

    VOTE GREEN

So you running for Green’s in locals now that Chris is gone Stephen?

You would think that when in coalition with FF and the PD’s that the Greens could only come out looking good. Amazing what a couple of years on Kildare street will do, it took no time at all for them to bend over. You’ld swear they actually enjoy it.
What a bunch of cheap political whores

Not so much of the gloating around these parts since we went up three per cent in the polls, eh?

If that’s implosion, long may it last.

That’s right Damian, we all took a vow of silence when we saw the polls. Enjoy your bounce in the polls, we’ll see if it translates into seats.
