CÓIR have had some mad stuff in Alive over the past few months. They are an interesting lot, and surprisingly influential on a significant portion of the public.

With regard to the Electoral Act, the 1992 Act - Section 140 seemingly applies to referenda as well as general elections according to a 2001 PQ answer from Minister Dempsey.

140. —(1) Every notice, bill, poster or similar document having reference to a Dáil election or distributed for the purpose of furthering the candidature of any candidate at a Dáil election shall bear upon its face the name and address of the printer and of the publisher thereof.

Spotted those posters on the way into town yesterday - also noticed the lack of an obvious publisher and wondered if it was illegal or not.

I wonder if the Electoral Act makes any reference to the publisher being clearly stated - or is this tiny print tactic allowed.
