We all know the HSE is in crisis. Yada yada. Heard it all before. What you might not have seen before is a potential tragedy unfolding as you read. Please, take the time to read right through to the latest entry. Then, take whatever the most prominent emotion you have and email Mary Harney with your thoughts on the matter.

Her email is Minister’s_Office@health.irlgov.ie.

Oh, HSE, I can’t bear it. Don’t want to even start.

We live in west Cavan, where the nearest hospital is over an hour away down impossible one lane roads. No helicopter service. Developing countries and war zones have better health services and access to hospitals, while we’re all supposed to be so rich here that we’re sniffing cocaine off toilet seats every night? Unbelievable.

We have a special-needs son; we waited four years for occupational therapy. We’re still waiting for the educational psychologist appointment we requested when he was first diagnosed, almost five years ago.

    Ridiculous.

I can’t believe this poor girl is still fighting health services when all this started in October–thank you for sharing her story and I’ll certainly be supporting her too.

    Thanks!

Yes, the Irish Health system is in desperate need of proper funding and management. People need also to be aware of their rights as patients. We can all make a little difference by going to the following site and signing the petition:

    It’s at least a start!
