I always did love recycling...comes with being too poor to buy anything new. What irritates me most about the car taxes and other punishments is how the government can ignore the fact that we rural people have almost no public transport at all, and roads that are sadly neglected, with many impossible to navigate without a 4x4...and we have livestock to haul, etc. So we have to drive big SUVs: we've got farming to do, kids to get to school, medical appointments to make (our nearest hospital is an hour away), and everything is miles and miles away from our homes. I wish there were more incentives in place for people who want to make a difference by living more frugally, or more 'green', but I don't see much of it.
