The Taoiseach’s 11 nominees are as follows:

Dan Boyle & Deirdre de Burca (Green Party)
Ciaran Cannon & Fiona O’Malley (Progressive Democrats)
Martin Brady, Ivor Callely, Maria Corrigan, John Ellis, Lisa McDonald & Brian Ó Domhnaill (Fianna Fáil)
Eoghan Harris (Sunday Independent columnist and Bertieaholic)

    That’s the PD finished so. And Callely must have one of those envelopes with a lawyer to be opened in case of his political demise.

    Overall a dreadful list. There used to be at least a show of using the nominations to put a couple of free thinkers in the Senate. Now it’s just the Dail retreads, and not even particuarly good ones from the FF side. Callely?

    what a wonderful piece of political patronage. Support Bertie, get a Seanad seat.

    The thing with the Callely nominiation is that once again Deirdre Heney gets overlooked. One wonders how much more of this she will take before something gives.
