Hat tip p.ie Article from the Pittsburgh Tribune Review called Irish Foolishness. According to this very well informed columnist.

There is no right wing in Ireland. (Thought every party was according to indymedia)

The PD’s were the “smaller center-left coalition partners” (Thought they were far-right loony’s or some such)

The election campaign was “brief election campaign — barely five weeks ” (Thought t had been going on for about 2 years)

One of the main issues was climate change. (Never heard it mentioned much)

The Green Party made global warming the center of its campaign (Thought that was planning)

Galway has a population of 159,000 (thought it was 71,000)

Seemingly the people of Galway were told to “boil the bejeezus” (Heard boil the water no bejeezus, begara, or a geiny mac)
