Web round up day 15, time for the B vitamins

And here we are on day 15, time to break out the Berocca – am sure the canvassers are on the red bull etc., but for those of us watching and blogging whilst doing whatever we do, the second half of this campaign better bring something soon to pep up the step.

Now as for Bertie’s statement, well there is reaction from Sarah Carey who brings us the Fr. Ted line again,  Fianna Fail however are busy saying that everyone else now has questions to answer. (Why is it Willie O’Dea that is doing all the asking? Or at least his photo is!)

The Limerick Blogger casts his eye over Limerick West.  Smiffy over at CLR ponders about Rabitte versus Blair. A visitor to Ireland, Borweg thinks that Gerry Adams posters make him look ‘more like a hippie-cum-math teacher from Portland than an alleged IRA terrorist.’

Ok so he thought he started at the top with a photo of Bertie Ahern and an ice-cream in Killarney yesterday, but no Kieran today you have outdone yourself. Ice Cream Ireland brings you Jackie Healy Rae - and a fact file – but no news on what flavour tickled the capped ones taste buds. Kieran is seeking questions and suggestions for other candidates – so off you go dear reader.

It might be time (and then again it might not) to mention the websites of some newer political parties in ireland.  And the party formally known as Parental Equality, we now have the Fathers Rights Party - ah but we don’t as their application to become a party has been delayed. But they are still are calling themselves a party are they? I’m confused.  They have eight declared candidates (all male) and you can find out more about them here.

Yesterday in Dublin it seems Ireland got its newest political party or at least grouping which is going to form a political party – éirígí, a socialist republican party. No candidates in the election as far as I can see but maybe next time?  The Christian Solidarity Party are running 7 candidates – including for the first time in years a female candidate.  Their website is no longer theirs I think, but you can find the candidate names here. There is also the People Before Profit Alliance with 5 candidates but they don’t have a website either unless you care to find a few of their candidates on the website of the Socialist Workers Party.

All partied out?  Time for some flickring, see the Irish Election Poster Pool where one might win an Enda. And Pat Rabbitte as Bobby Ewing? Ah there is a shower scene I could do without thinking about. See Malice at Southfork for the Dallasing of the players in the general election. Joan Burton (Labour – Dublin West) as taken to You Tube - a musical presentation, I expect a red jacket or pink suit count from Damien Mulley shortly.

Lots of issues in Joan’s video there.

Nope. This is definitely the Haircut Election. Or possibly the Vampire Election.

How did you know I’d comment Maman Poulet??

Parental Equality now a political party? Dress it up anyway they like but they’re trying to turn back equality and put women back into their “place”.

I’ve had contact with Parental Equality in the past, but in this present incarnation, the idea is to alter law, legal process and policy to remedy men’s alleged ill-treatment as fathers. How about learning to be fathers and partners instead of litigants rather than peddle a particularly dodgy form of masculinity politics, which is based on half-truths and myths.Their solution (that men’s discrimination in the courts) can be solved by legal moves is simplistic.I am being too harsh for a Monday?
