Reasons To Be Cheerful part 1

Read more about: Uncategorized

For those hoping for a change in government, something quite fashionable in other democracies, there are still many reasons to be cheerful.

Here’s my top 10

1 – PDs wiped out.

2 – Fianna Fail can’t survive the death of the sun.

So within 4 billion years we can expect a change of government. Unfortunately the human race won’t exist, but this will come as a relief to the other intelligent races in the universe.

3 – PDs wiped out.

4 – We won’t have to listen to Enda talking about babies getting rashes in the middle of the night anymore.

5 – PDs wiped out.

6 – Our Taoiseach up in front of the Mahon tribunal.

A proud moment for us all.

7 – PDs wiped out.

8 – Willie O’Dea’s moustache to be granted Grade 1 monument status.

9 – PDs wiped out.

10 – Mary Lou can continue to represent us with intelligence, competence and insight in Europe. Because that means she’ll be outside the country. Hurray!

..and dont forget- the PDS wiped out! Is there such a word as gloatfulness- if not there should be, cos I’ve just found it an all-consuming emotion and I feel reborn- reborn I tell ya!

Now now, “wiped out” is such a bad phrase it today’s environmentally friendly era. I’m certain we can keep one, maybe even two, out in the zoo, but lets make sure it’s not a breeding pair :-)

I’m not sure, I work under the assumption PDs reproduce asexually … at least I can’t countenance any other possibility … or rather, refuse to.

Hopefully you will soon be able to replace your number one with “Her Michael ‘Goebel’ McDowell beaten by Mr. Green Onion”.

FF could very well get an overall majoruty, which is nice to see that the loud mouth and leftwing pinko media wont get their way.

    The Irish ppl speak.

McDowell and Harney reproducing… There’s an image I didn’t need in my head. Here’s hoping for Gormley.

Jack, thankyou for putting me off my snack, and dragging me down into the depths of despair once more

While all the pundits are applauding how well Bertie’s team did, I feel the good news is that in an era of Celtic Tiger, economic prosperity (for some), etc., the Soldiers of Destiny did *not* romp home with a thundering majority. Voters may have decided to “stick” with FF but, IMO, in a tentative way, so the reason to be really cheerful is that the Fianna Fail tide was stopped. Symbolically, we could class this as closer to Major’s 1992 election result than a 1984 Reagan landslide. I feel the next election won’t be five years away.

Oh yeah, and the PD’s are f***ked too …yay!

As Brian says, FF could get an overall majority.

While I like the guy, I’d love to see Pat Rabbitte’s expression if that one happens. He’s been so sure thoughout the election campaign that he’d be Tánaiste no matter what happened… He didn’t see this one coming…

You forgot the other upside. Now Fianna Fail wont be able to blame Fine Gael for the economic downturn.

    SeanR

Keep believeing that BUT the people have decided that despite the crap the media have been writing about its about management of the country that people have been voting on.

Media hate Bertie because he is ordinary but they don’t realise that the voters are ordinary as well.

Holding share and maybe increasing seats when population growing and an increased turnout is a victory.

Next Election is looking 5 years away.

Harney and Grealish to be elected.
    Mcdowell a possibity.
O’Malley and O Malley both have outside chances.
PDs to be back in government with bigger parliamentary party than Greens or Sein Fein.

    The PDs Survive .. Rejoice
