A big thanks to everyone who made count day and the election coverage in this place so spectacular. From a standing start we had people communicating with us from around the country feeding information to us as soon as it was breaking in the count centres. The people who read, contributed to and helped out the blog in all shapes and forms are the people who deserve the most credit for what was an exceptional election for blogs. Feel free to keep in touch with us and send on ideas, comments etc to irishelection(@)
Special thanks to our sponsors on the day for their amazing help in keeping us updated, particularly MySay and BT. The widget provided a very different way of getting in contact with bloggers and contributors around the country, it is something we will be looking to integrate into the site over the coming weeks. BT’s help with communication kit and locations on the day was invaluable for all of us. I think Damien’s 3G card deserves its own mention too!
Second helping of special thanks for people like Zack Exley, Henry and the Crooked Timber folks, Josh at Techpresident.com for raising the profile of our project. Equally special thanks to MSM outlets such as Newstalk, Today FM (on a personal note, The Last Word specifically for an amazing Friday and Saturday) and local radio (almost all at some stage!) for bringing bloggers on to talk about the election. Kudos to the Indo and others for taking (attributed or otherwise) a great deal of comment from us over the election.
Lastly to Damien and Suzy who (along with myself) ran the whole thing on Friday but more importantly, pulled it all together in the weeks preceding the election. Anyone who wants to should send them emails telling them how great it was!

go damien’s 3G card
Yeah you go girl! I call her sally.
Very impressive all three of you centrally involved.
Kudos to Cian, Suzy and Damien, and it was great to meet youse on Friday, albeit in a slightly bleary, “Death of the Left” sort of way.
Well done to all of you on a fantastic job.
