Predictions  if the seats of FF 78 FG 51 Labour 21 Sinn Fein 3 Green Party 5 PD 2 Indo 5 come true. That would mean that FG/Lab/PD/Green 79 seats. Now there is 2 left-wing indo’s and 1 FG gene pool TD would bring the opposition up to 82 seats. One more indo would be a technical majority. This would mean FF would need Sinn Fein. EMMM

Arguably the most unstable government – ever!

Actually, Green 6 forecast. Trevor Sargent has yet to get over the quota, but a near certain I’d say.

Personality over Policy, Its a Terrible result for ourselves the Irish Public. 41.6% of the public are blind, can you imagine the party now the FF will have. Sitting back for another 5 yrs, Keeping Dublin alive, because thats all they will do. Even watching RTE everyone is talking, City City City, what about the Country.

that labour 21 may go to SF for an extra seat we will know in a half hour how likely that is. Kenny would need to manage a 3 party plus independent. Not gonna happen. Too much of a disaster. Still anything is possible.

1 independent as ceann comhairle and it may well work. FF may offer the greens ministers instead though. Have to wait and see.

    Worldby storm

Thinking you are too young to remember the early 1980′s. that was unstable government.

I don’t see what the problem is, FF’s ten years in government have been some of the most successful the country has ever seen. The media and political hacks like to bitch, gossip and make outrageous statements but the public decided they were the best option. FF have TDs across the country so they have every reason to look outisde Dublin. On policy, the Rainbow government tried to steal alot of the outgoing government’s clothes resulting in th elarge parties offering much the same. The electorate knows that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The Rainbow is not possible now, an FF/Green coalition should easily be able to agree a programme for government and that looks to be the best option.

More I think about it the more plusanble it seems happened in 49 rememeber. If they nominated Jakie Healy Rae for ceann chorille. (how ever you spell it) that leaves 4 indo’s 3 rainbow gene-pool and 1 mayo. Certainly more likely to back enda then Bertie.

    that brings up FG/Lab/Green to I guess 82. PD’s make that 84.
Without the Greens FF can’t do it without Sinn Fein and they said they would not do it.

    Speculation is fun.

Doesn’t have to be with anybody other than PDS.

Healy-Rae and Flynn are both FF in genes and bringing down a FF Govt will hurt them as both would potentially lose seats.

A FG/Lab/PD/Green/Left-Ind/FG-Ind/FF-Ind Coalition. The Fine Gaelers are living in La La Land if they think that can be put together. It would collapse in the walk from the negotiation table to the front door.

Its idiotic to even think that thats an option.

Don’t forget the inter-party givernments of 1948 and 1954, both did great service for our country.. 1948 especially seems to transcribe better to this years election, the combination of FG/Lab/CnP/CnT/NL/Ind left them just one seat ahead of FF, that government lasted 3 and a half years.. It seems unlikely it will ever happen again but it is not impossible..
