I think the ratings for the satirical ones does show that comedy is the best means to get them viewed.

Minor whinge, but the indo today refers to the Enda/Cowell one as coming first, but the Dragon’s Den was in fact the first one. Make of that what you will. I also think more people should check out political thicko’s. And the sorted party is good but seems to have had more resources that ragaman7 or thicko.

I don’t read the Indo, I collated all these this evening. They’re the most accurate.

Hmm, just a thought even though the Dragon’s Den and Simon Cowell videos are hilarious, and they’ve received a lot of press exposure, might a certain amount of their popularity stem from people searching for actual Simon Cowell or Dragon’s Den videos?

Political thicko is leagues ahead of anything else out there is my opinion.

I’ve just checked the stats on youtube for my old P.D. Election Video experiment from the begining of the year. It’s got 2,143 views, which is a lot more than the last time I checked.

Sorry, Damien, when I said came fist I meant they were suggesting that it appeared first.

Niall, that is one of the problem with youtube you can’t see how many people have actually watched the whole thing as the views is for anyone who has watched the start.

The relatively low number of views for even the best videos is indicative of the lack of broadband availibility (at any price)in so many parts of the country-not to mention the rip-off cost.Maybe Fianna Fail did themselves a favour when they left our communications infrastructure in third world conditions.
A Norwegian friend of mine who spends four months here in Gran Canaria each winter got a Wi-Fi deal from Vodaphone for 140 hours broadband for 70 euros,so the cellular phone people are beginning to enter the market.Of course this is not really in their best interests, but the profitability is tempting for them in situations such as exist here where hundreds of thousands of retired folk winter in the islands for 3-to 4 months, and the number of “silver surfers”(such as myself) is increasing steadily..

The other problem with youtube stats is that there’s nothing to stop the same person viewing the video 10, 100 or 1000 times and adding to the hit counter. So you’ve gotta be careful in analysing the popularity of the videos, particularly the candidate-specific ones.

Still though, a worthwhile examination. Eric Byrne’s vlog at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csJTtq7Oepc has 400 hits which for me is a good record for a single candidate in less than a month.

John Gormley’s “Planet Bertie” convention speech currently has 516 views – you might wish to add it under Green Party Videos. If you’re aggregating views from multiple versions, there are earlier versions on YouTube (193 views) and Google Video (131 views).

Is the big date on the title of the page not a clue?
