Enda Kenny Accuses Michael McDowell

Enda Kenny says that it was McDowell who leaked the documents. Considering that McDowell legally represented Owen O’Callaghan in private sessions with the tribunal in 1998 maybe not crazy as it sounds.

Ah for fuck’s sake. Enda should stay well away from this. It will now distract from the FG election campaign too.

Ya fine Gael need this one to be between the media and FF stick to the line “we want to talk about policies line”

i agree, on the allegation itself, one would think the man who leaked it would be better prepared for its fallout. Instead of getting filleted by Sean o Rourke last night

Kenny’s taken the bait. Now he’ll be reeled in, the idiot.

Once again Kenny tries to blame others when its quite clear that he is the only leak. People can pass off what Kenny said to Minister Roache as being a joke, but its far from that. He wanted Fianna Fáil to know it was him was leaking the info. to the media etc. knowing fine well that it cannot be traced back to him.

Bertie Ahern is an honest decent man and he has made this Country a much better place to live and work. Enda Kenny and his Fine Gael crusade are a bunch of ***** who only want the salary that comes with the job. On May 24th, I will be voting Fianna Fáil number 1.

I disagree Lads, I think Kenny needed to say this especially after Noel Ahern’s comments today.

The gist was “We ain’t spreading the shit on Bertie, look a bit closer to home Noel.“.

FFers as ever posting anonymously with vapid and empty wanderings, actually a bit like their leader when it comes to answering questions about this.

As an ex-FF, Noel Whelan got it right today when he said all Bertie needs to do is the old West Wing trick of a press conference on his finances and keep answering the questions until there are not any more questions to answer. If Bertie is clean, what’s the problem ?

All his financial dealings are going to be made public in due course at the Tribunal so its not like we are’nt to get the full details in the near future anyhow…..

Let’s get some perspective here. the ISSUE is about corruption and high political office.

FF are trying to make it into a trial of the opposition, which is cynical, but not unexpected.

The opposition would be foolish to take that kind of crap lying down.

Enda should just have said “Sorry lads, not getting into this, let FF and PD fight it out via snide comments in various publications, I’m rather busy here giving a crap about the future of the country and getting on with campaigning.”

They are all wrong. It’s got nothing to do with McDroll or Kenny. Its plain as be that its Frank Connolly leaking the the documentation he “gathered” from his time as head of the Sinn Fein IRA judicial wing the CPI.

His brother spend months in a stinking Colombian jail as the Irish Government more or less disowned him. Now he is getting his revenge. If they did it to your brother you’d do the same.

Enda is a clown to get himself dragged into this. Leave the row between FF and PDs with the media goading them on.

I have very little interest in any politicians. Bertie has done well on the economy and the north. However he should have come clean earlier about finances. Leaks have come from either Fine Gael or PD’s as most of the legal people have affinities in that direction. We need an election about the serious issues facing this country as it looks that the economy is heading south.

Just out of curiosity, FF can’t possible have a leadership election this side of polling day as a good number (possible 20% or more) of those voting would be not members of the parliamentary party after election day.

If the Dail is dissolved there isn’t a parliamentary party to vote (is there?).

Anyway we could be looking at a very interesting set of results after the election.

It is increasingly likely that no party will go in with Fianna Fail with Bertie as leader. Therefore Brian Cowan or Dermort Ahern would have to step up if they do go back into government.

It still remains a high probability that the only stable government would be Fianna Fail & Labour. Now Rabbitt is also in a difficult position as he is on record as saying he would not lead Labour into government with Fianna Fail (not just Bertie). Hence Brendan Howlin could be labour leader.

If Fine Gael fail to win power then Kenny will be sent back to Mayo and more than likely Richard Bruton is leader.

Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin is the Sinn Fein IRA leader in the republic (officially at least). But he had a heart attack recently and may not want to continue. Plus Mary Lou is the senior officer so if she was elected command would go to her.

The Greens hold leadership elections after every election. If they don’t do as well as they think they are about to (and I think they may be disappointed) then Sargent is likely to step down for an election which Gormley would more than likely win.

If the PDs melt down then the knives will be out for McDowell and O’Donnell will see this as her big chance. Also it is far from certain that McDowell will actually retain his seat.

The Socialists and independents aren’t a party. You need more than one to be a “party”.

What odds that by July the leadership of all parties in the Dail is changed.

    Fianna Fail: Brian Cowan (Taoiseach)
    Labour: Brendan Howlin (Tánaiste)
    Fine Gael: Richard Bruton
    Greens: John Gormley
Sinn Fein IRA: Mary Lou McDonald
    PDs: Liz O’Donnell
