There is a surprise in Dublin North-East as Terence Flanagan shades Martin Brady to join Michael Woods and Tommy Broughan in the Dail on SF transfers from Larry O’Toole.

    It shows that banging on lots of doors and showing your face is one route to political success.

    You have to laugh at a reluctant Woods being re-elected and Brady being ousted. What odds a retirement and by-election within a couple of years?

    It shows that Brady targetted Sweeney as the primary threat and maybe spent too much effort whilst Flanagan flew under the radar. PT you’re right – there will be a by-election here to look forward too in the not too distant future given Woods age.
