Blog Roundup – Day 8
Twenty four hours is indeed a long time.
Last night, the imminent demise of the Fianna Fáil / PD coalition was assumed by many a blogger, including myself. alas, the PDs have decided to struggle on in government, according to Michael McDowell, in order to “look after the health service.”
so, what’s the reaction today?
Niall9 has given us a link to Captain Moonlight, who takes an ecumenical approach to politics with his song ‘dirty cunts.’ all politicians, it seems are dirty cunts, with Irish politics a level-playing field of cunts. The political system in Ireland is a cuntocracy, a cuntcophany, ruled by the guiding principles of cuntology. Have a listen here.
A brand new blog has opened for business. It’s called www.getfiannafailout.com, and it does what it says on the tin. I couldn’t find out who is behind the site, as they’ve hidden their web registration details. Still, these days it might be easier to list the people who want Fianna Fáil in government, than those who do not.
Eric Byrne wrote a piece today – not about the PDs and the will they/won’t they, but about the Evening Herald and politicians’ dress sense. Now, this is taking the don’t talk about Bertie a bit too far.
finally, rockthevote continues its embarrassing existence. All the more shame, then, that Pat Rabbitte has made it the official blog for himself. at least, according to an email I got from Paul Daly of the Irish labour party, who told me that Pat will be filling the “yoof” of Ireland in on his dramatic “make a change” tour exclusively on rock the vote. Unfortunately, all Pat has on his blog is an email address we can use to tell him how GREAT! or otherwise his blog is, can be, will be. etc.
By the way, rockthevote, if ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE, needs Rosanna fucking Davison to convince them to “get out and vote”, they should be clubbed to death with the fist-shaped dildo from Borat.
