I set out tonight to focus in on blogs from left-wing candiates, but first a quick mention of
Thomas Byrne, FF candidate for Meath East, who got into a bit of a tizz with Mary Hanafin over the issue of education and autism. His comments were reported in the Drogheda Indo, while Thomas gets to grips with his apologies via his blog.

Labour candidate in Meath East, Dominic Hannigan, has an interesting youtube video about boundries in Drogheda. check out his stuff here.

Eric Byrne’s only entry today relates to the Labour party’s manifesto.

Councillor Aidan Culhane, Labour candidate for Dublin South, has decided to leave his blogging until AFTER the election. Defeats the whole purpose of setting up a blog in the first place, but there you go.

Joan Burton seems to have a regularly updated blog, although her comments on going for a swim yesterday conjured up an image that will stay with me to the grave. She also took time to call the Consilla train the “Calcutta Express”, which is just plain daft. I was hoping for something on Bertie’s mess today, but nothing, just a safe little blog on the manifasto. Fair enough, I suppose, just keep your clothes on, Joan!

no fear of Liz McManus taking her clothes off, although in her day….
Liz has no entry today, just a countdown clock to remind us how long is left to CHANGE!!!
Liz, sexy as you are, a clock is not a blog, it’s a fucking clock. dispense with immediately.

The Socialist party have not taken to the blogging at all at all.

the SWP, however, shouldn’t have bothered. Their two candidates, Rory Hearne and Richard Boyd Barrett, have offered only a myspace blog stuffed with press releases. Useless.

finally, there’s the SF. I couldn’t find any blogs, only youtube videos. Again, not exactly cutting-edge. Kneecap the lot of them, that’s what I say.
