Rock the Vote has blogs

Read more about: Blogging     Print This Post

Rock the Vote launch leaders blogs. With Bertie, Pat, Gerry, Michael, Trevor and Enda blogging. However unlike this blog and most others they don’t allow comments I am afraid. To afraid people might disagree? That is a huge opportunity lost for people to really engage with politicians. As without it they are just press releases in a less formal tone Interesting to note both Gerry and Trevor mention Weekend voting as an issue they will push on.

I had figured the site was a piss take and after surfing to it I’m still not sure – my eyes hurt from the design. I’m wondering could they possibly have made it any more hectic or maybe figured that the current CMS systems just don’t drop in as a usable solution for every web campaign.

That whole site freaks me out. Where are they getting the funding? They say they are non-partisan, but everyone knows the parent organization in the states is funded by left wing finance – where’s the incentive here? And yeah… calling those blogs? Um.. maybe letters? What a joke!

Someone had mentioned that the guy behind the Morrison hotel had fronted them a few quid. And they are based in a building he owns/leases. Fact is that they have no association with the original Rock the Vote so I’m dubious too. as I mentioned before I wonder if they will endorse someone at the end of it all.
