Breaking news indicated from the Irish Times political editor Stephen Collins on The Week in Politics about a story in tomorrows paper. More as I get it but it concerns £30k, Celia Larkin and Michael Wall. Maybe this is why Bertie has been a bit quiet today and avoiding questions?

I think Pat Rabbitte hit the nail on the head when he said “Bertie Ahern got €30,000 from businessmen in Manchester and he goes up in the polls. I got no money from anyone and I go down in the polls“. I don’t expect to see either Labour or Fine Gael rush to this story after being so badly burnt by BertieGate.
Yeah, maybe it’s a plant by Bertie – couple this with the accusations the Tribunal will fling around for the next week, I’d say FF should prepare for a single-party government!
I think people are tired of this kind of story unless there is evidence of favours given in return. I suppose paper never refused ink though.
