Fianna Fáil Councillor Mary Fitzpatrick says she’s the Greenest candidate!

How dare she I hear the collect Green Party shout. As they rally to think the high ground. Here is a prediction for you within a few days the greens will release a press release with some or all of the following points.

Mary Fitzpatrick says

We got rid of our second car and our first car runs on diesel.

Greens will say Mary White car runs on plant oil. Also they will point out that Diesel produces 40 times more Nitrogen Monoxide.

Mary Fitzpatrick says.

I have an insulated attic and double-glazed windows

Greens will say is that not planning law for new houses?

Mary Fitzpatrick says

I’ve installed a wood burning stove using zero emission logs from Wicklow which are 60% more efficient than open fire and are clean and easy to use.”

Greens say so do we.

Mary Fitzpatrick says

“I segregate all my household rubbish at the source. I recycle all paper, tin, glass and plastic and I compost or bin the rest.

Greens say big woop most people do while. “Niall Ó Brolcháin has helped to make Galway perhaps Irelands Greenest City. It constantly tops the recycling charts and has achieved Litter free”

But the big battle will be over this statement.

“All of these measures combined have reduced our household carbon foot print by 25% over the last 3 years”, concluded Cllr Fitzpatrick.

    As I said elsewhere, Mary seems to be making a genuine effort and fair play to her. However, her voters might be more interested to hear about what Fianna Fáil has done or intends to do to make it easier for them to follow her lead.

    If Fianna Fáil thinks that the environmental vote will be decided by which candidate has the greenest lifestyle then I’m afraid they don’t understand green politics.
