As I said, I thought the site was non-partisan, with bloggers of all persuassions putting forward their view point. Having a logo which is clearly partisan as part of the sites branding seem to me to be against that spirit.

That is all.

Irish Election was never said to be non-partisan it is multi-partizan. If someone want to do something against some government policy they are more then titled to do it. Indeed John you are also a member of this blog and you are as intitiled as I am to contribute to this blog.

With regard to this button, it appears to be branding this petition as an IrishElection campaign given its prominence on the front page. I was under the imnpression that this site was non-partisan effort, for bloggers of all persusassions to put forth their views. Am I wrong?

Dan you have yet to say why it has to be done in the schooling system and why Enda says that it works in the US when the largest survey on the matter says there is no proof of that. And the only proof you can give in its favour is from a website. Called. randomstudentdrugtesting.org
Also you have not explain what you think should be done if the child themselves refuses to tak the test should they be held down and forcibly tested. Expelled from the schooling system.

Parents can if they want test their children providing that the kids agree as well already. That is a private matter. By bringing it into the schooling system you are entering an entirely different system. you are bringing in the state. Criminal records etc

If parents want their kids to stay at home and work in the fields. Do we allow the parents to do that. No we have laws for the protection of the child rights above there parents wishes. We say they have to go to school

Simon, I'm still quite lost as to why you would be opposed to parents of those under 18 who are in full time education being able to have their own children tested for the consumption of illegal drugs.

Seriously, can you give us a reason?
