Greens Will Demand Multi-billion Euro Public Transport Commitment for Support

In an election-heavy Irish Times, this nugget is quite interesting. The main demand the Green Party would have in the event of coalition talks after an election is a multi-billion Euro public transport initiative. This implies either Trevor or a second Green TD minister as Minister for Transport. Of course it depends on outcome in seats but it is interesting to see the demands laid out so early on in the campaign and what impact it might have on the minds of voters. (There is also will-he won’t-he comments by Trevor on Fine Gael or Fianna Fail. My own opinion is that both are in play for the Greens at the moment until the seats/TD picture becomes clearer next June.)
