The Limerick Blogger Election Project: Week Two

This is a little delayed as I should have posted this on Saturday. Anyway, here it is now.

To find out what the Limerick Blogger Election Project is all about, head here.

The story so far: Week One

In week one, I received my first two acknowledgements from Maurice Quinlivan of Sinn Féin and Jan O’Sullivan TD of the Labour Party. At the end of Week one, I was waiting for an article from Mr. Quinlivan.

Week 2

On Saturday, I received Maurice Quinlivan’s article, which gave reasons as to why people should vote for him. It has received a mixed response from readers, some offering support and a promise of a vote, whilst others pointed out that great portions seem to have been copied from the 2002 Sinn Féin Election Manifesto. Readers have indicated that a personally written article would have been nicer than a demonstration of someone’s MS Word skills.

At 1442hrs on Sunday, one commenter said:

Poor old Maurice didn’t do anything to help his campaign he simply showed that he has basic microsoft word skills i.e. Cut Paste and “find and replace with __”

Expected in the near future

This morning I have received an acknowledgement and a promise of an article from Fianna Fáil’s Peter Power TD. He has promised to get back to me on a date, but it is definitely an accepted invitation. Meanwhile, we wait with baited breath to find out if Eddie Wade is going to run or not.

Last week’s Limerick Leader reported that Willie O’Dea would have no problem with him running, while a more reserved Noreen Ryan simply wished him well regardless of his decision.

Michael Collins’ trial at the Circuit Court gets underway next week. Only time will tell whether or not an ongoing trial will have an effect on voter apathy in Limerick East. Mr. Collins is facing a fraud charge.

I notice a lot of illegal immigrants the the crime that goes with them in these sub communities(I WILL SPEAK OF ONE ROMANIAN FAMILY WAS HOUSED BY THE HSE,I KNEW OF THE GUY WHO OWNED THE HOUSE PREVIOUSLY IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL BIG COUNTRY HOUSE WITH SUCH BEAUTY THEY WRECKED IT RUBBISH EVERYWHERE) what are we DOING ABOUT SUCH ISSUES??
There is not enough cameras on roads and streets to make people feel safe and laws CLEARLY NEED UPDATING,how many lawyers are even in ratio to guards it is probably on a level,DO WE HAVE ANY REAL ACCURATE CENSUS FORMS???How many unknown criminals and terrorists RESIDE IN THIS BACKWARD NATION AS WE SPEAK..THERE ARE A LOT OF IMMIGRANTS WHO HOP OF THE STENALINE FROM THE NORTH TO THE SOUTH NO PROBLEMS NO QUESTIONS ASKED!
Does anybody even have any idea what this country will be like in ten years from now?!??!?!
Why isnt more money being put into the gardai siochana, which are currently overstrecthed as they are playing security guards to the big wig politicians, and music business moguls???!
WHY ARE THE BANKS ALLOWED TO TEAR US MERE MORTALS LIMB FOR LIMB?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?????????????!?!??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!
Why isnt more money put into safe guarding agraculture and local farming, why are we not putting more energy into investing in farming/green energy, and exports BECAUSE WHEN AN ECONOMY FAILS , THE BASICS IS WHAT WE SHOULD RELY ON NOT THE FADS,SNAZZY MARKETEERS,O2 VODAFONE AND THE LIKE BUT WHAT ACTUALLY MAKES A COUNTRY ECONOMICALLY VIABLE..CAPATILISM IS NOT A LOYAL FRIEND OF OUR NATION,WE NEED TO TAKE BACK SOME BUSINESSESS FOR OUR COUNTRIES SURVIVAL..WE NEED CUSTOMS ON EVERY PORT,DOCK AND BORDER,WE NEED TO WAKE UP TO A CHANGING NATION THAT IS ROTTING AT THE VERY CORE THANKS TO GREED AND SHORT SIGHTED THINKING..
