Gormley Continues his McDowell thing

John Gormley, Green spokesman on Foreign Affairs, Defence, Health & Children, continues his sterling work on his favourite topic. No, not Foreign Affairs, Defence, Health or Children. No, Michael McDowell.
Like the Grand old Duke of York, Michael McDowell has marched his PD troops to the top of the hill only to march them down again.
John must have been up all night to come up with that witticism, thinking to him self “I crack myself up”. How hilarious. Now the Greens like to think that they are better then the other parties (see, no corporate donations) and more about ideas than rhetoric. Less parish pump politics, more the right thing to do. But looking through John’s past ten press releases, including today’s, I see:
- McDowell’s “judgment error” statement a cop-out
- Gormley welcomes confirmation of Dartmouth Square CPO
- Gormley joins anti-incineration protests against burn-happy Roche
- Dartmouth Square case highlights need for laws to protect public green spaces
- Green Party congratulates Michael McDowell
- Greens welcome legal action against Dartmouth Square developer
- Green Party supports residents in protest over Dartmouth Square
- Greens outraged at Israeli attitude towards cluster bombs
- Rise in homeless children reflects the dark side of the Celtic Tiger
So, basically, only 20% of his press releases are about his four portfolios, while 30% are about his rival Michael McDowell. So much for being more “ideas” party. They are like the rest; more rhetoric and punch-and-judy politics than anything else.
Head over to our T
As well as being spokesperson for those three policy areas, John is also TD for Dublin South East and the Green Party’s chairperson, and naturally enough releases statements in those capacities also. All of the releases you list above reflect current events – you might have noticed that Michael McDowell has been in the news lately.
If you’d extended your little survey of press releases back by another 10, you would find that 80% of those relate to his policy portfolios, one to his role as DSE TD, and one to his role as party chairperson. And you’ll have to go back to May to find one about Michael McDowell.

LOL!!!
you might have noticed that Michael McDowell has been in the news lately. You may also notice that I accused Mr Gormley of engaging in punch and judy politics. What is Michael McDowell got to do with his portfolio.
, John is also TD for Dublin South East
Yes hence why I said he is engaging in Parish pump polictics.

I am not the one who likes to think that they are above the normal punch and judy politics of the country.
I admit it.
