Green Party Backs McDowell

Greens hope McDowell wins. Not the headline I would expect from a member of the greens blog but seems like John Gormley is a bit of a McDowell fan. In the words of Bill Hicks “who’d have tunk it”. But no wait.
Speaking yesterday evening to my Green colleagues it became clear that most of them wanted Michael McDowell to be the next leader. They feel he’s just the type of divisive and extreme figure that could bring this Government down.
How Machiavellian of you Mr Gormley. Sod principles the end justifies the means I guess. Perhaps if Haughey had known Mr Gormley he would not have been so quick to call Bertie “the cleverest, the most cunning, the most devious of them all.”
Machiavellian is right! I’d say the Greens are rubbing their hands, waiting for the PDs to completely implode.

What principle says that you can’t hope for the downfall of a government you oppose?
The one that says you don’t support what you don’t agree with. Surely he would rather a more liberal rather then a more conservative PD’s to emerge
