[The Irish Bloggers Conference: Blogging The Election takes place on October 7 in the Digital Hub in Dublin. 10:30-5:30 (approx). Registration is necessary as places are limited, register here. We also still need sponsorship!]

One of the morning sessions at the Blogging the Election conference will be discussing the art of blogging by politicians. Amongst those joining us to discuss their blogs and the nature of blogging by elected officials in Ireland will be Councillor Damien Blake, (Fianna Fail) Former Mayor of Letterkenny; Deputy Ciaran Cuffe, Green Party TD for Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown; and Councillor Dominic Hannigan, Labour Party councillor for Meath.

We are hoping to have politician bloggers from other parties join us also on the day.

The session will discuss the rationale for blogging, the decisions made in what to blog, the support for blogging by political party’s head office and the interaction between blogging politicians and their electorate.
