Will there be live blogging from the conference or some kind of a podcast about it?

I would love to come along, but have a creative writing workshop that day which is paid-for and non-refundable!

[...] Unlike the my previous chauffeur request, this is genuine. We’ll be announcing a venue and the first speaker for the upcoming “Blogging the Election” conference. It’s a good location and a very good speaker but in order to get the speaker and the venue we need a good bit of money. Catering is another expense are other odds and ends. For this reason Cian outlines what sponsorship “Blogging the Election” needs. Our current estimate is €4500 and so we have 9 €500 slots to be sponsored but a sponsor can sponsor more if they like. [...]

[...] Slugger sez: Blogging first broke into the limelight in the US after 9/11. By June 2002, when Slugger began life, poltical blogging was still a something of a small village affair in Britain and the lonely pursuit of a handful of early adopters in Ireland. One, Paul Dunne, even handbuilt his own linux-based blog software. This week’s events in Britain have shown how blogs enable individuals to share forensic knowledge and insight in speedy networks. In Ireland we are still looking for our Rathergate moment. With one, and possibly two, big elections coming up next year, Cian, Suzy, Damien (Irish Blog Awards fame))and myself invite anyone with an interest to a one day conference in Dublin on 7th October, that will both explain and explore just what political blogging can do. [...]

It would be handy if the day kicked off after 1015 so those arriving from outside of Dublin have the best opportunity to connect while using public transportation.
