Quiet

It has been pretty quiet in politics and around here the last few days I guess the good weather effects people. :) Indeed the local papers have been quiet as well hence no round up. But Questions and Answers was interested. Q1: What is the panel’s response to the latest sex law?

Panel and audience respond

I have to say Colm O’Gorman made some interesting points.

He did and he was attempting to widen the debate which was good. That fact that he also was being party political about how the ‘system’ had failed to serve the debate well was disappointing, after all if the Dail system failed the debate then what point having Colm in there? And we can all recall how the PDs would never have been politic about any issue of such a serious nature.

I kind of felt for the kids of the two mothers in the audience who spoke about the family dinner table discussions. So the lads are going to get a right ribbing now from their peers.

I’ve got to finish a blog posting about the age of consent as I think that we’ve forgotten what it was for.

I think your right dan, the age of consent and some other details were just channeled into the legislation, on Cowens call if Liz McManus is to be believed, and are now law while we are left ex-post facto debating the issue.

Looks like long finger tactics won out really with all the stuff swept under the carpet without a sunsset clause bringing them up again.
