Enda Kenny’s Ard Feis Speech

During his speech, Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny attacked the government on both the Accident and Emergency crisis, and crime.
He promised that he would take what he called “weekend warriors,” a name he gave to those who go into A and E units after drunken behaviour, and would put them in drunk tanks.
He also promised to make judges more accountable, promising to introduce legislation which would reduce the possibility of judges handing down inappropriate sentences for serious crimes.
His beil reform promises included electronicly tagging of people who were on bail.
Many thanks for posting the links to the video, squid. I’ve been constantly checking the Fine Gael website (I feel positively _filthy_) to see if they’ve posted the text of his speech, but nary a sign of it, so the vids’ll have to do.
