Harris v. O’Toole; Round 2

Read more about: Media

Eoghan Harris is due to square up against The Irish Times’ Fintan O’Toole for the second time tonight when they go head to head on RTÉ’s Prime Time (which has just started on RTÉ One and can be viewed online).

The two came to blows around election time on Matt Cooper’s election coverage on Today FM (available on a stream here) with Harris eventually storming out of the studio because Cooper kept letting O’Toole make his point.

Can we expect similar fireworks this time? We shall see.

twere a bit of a damp squib wasnt it? Nowhere near as tetchy as their encounet on the Last Word at the election. I thought Harris relied overly on the point viz. lenght of the tribunal-Bert has questions.

Does anyone think he seems to be less convinced than he was? Or am I misinterpreting his exasperation?

I dunno Cian. You’re the one with the insight on Harris given you know what he rambled on about when he walked out of the Last Word studio.

But as far as I can see, Harris is mentally unstable and while he may support Bertie this week, he may change his mind next week - no doubt citing Plato as the basis for his change of opinion. It’s not a case of if Harris will turn on Bertie, but when.

I love the letter in the newspaper when Harris was appointed to the Senate. The writer said the senator was in danger of disappearing up his Eoghan Harris.
