Considering some recent Fianna Fail press releases I am not surprised if they support this. From todays Indo

A PROPOSAL by rural publicans that they be compensated for financial losses due to random breath-testing has been branded as “nonsense”.

Ok fair enough publicans we will compensate you for losses due to random breath-testing if you compensate the families of all people who have died due to people consuming your product on your premises. It only fair.
Update: They have changed their tune some what now they don’t want compensation for random breath-testing they want the state to subsides their business by transporting their customers to them. Great Idea how about subsidising Brown Thomas as well to transport its costumers to its shops. What is it with these guys and the free market.
