Selection later this month but it’s a sign of confidence in their abilities following the resignation of G.V. Wright, Jim Glennon and Sean Ryan. I wonder whose votes they are targetting: Labour or Fianna Fail?
Interestingly, the last time out, the two left candidates came out on top, with Trevor on top of the poll and Sean Ryan in second. I know Labour are running Ryan’s relation Brendan—not certain of association—but the Greens could well take advantage of sluggish Labour support in the polls. With it being Trevor Sargent’s own plot, there is theoretically capacity for transfers and taking some of the core vote of one of the other candidates to shunt in a second Green TD.
